About Desmond Calderon

Founder & Editor

I’ve always had a green thumb, but my real gardening education came from my grandfather’s overgrown but wildly productive plot in upstate New York. He’d grumble about ‘city folks’ ruining good soil, but he’d let me dig in the dirt anyway—teaching me that the best lessons grow slowly.

This site is where I pass along those lessons, along with the messy, rewarding experiments I’ve made since then. Think of it as a love letter to the plants that keep surprising us.
